Artwork Requirements
Proper artwork ensures the best results for your custom products. Here's what we need.
Accepted File Formats
Vector Files (Preferred)
.AI, .EPS, .PDF, .SVG
Vector files can be scaled to any size without losing quality. They're ideal for logos and text that need to be resized for different products.
Best for: All customization methods, especially engraving and large prints
High-Resolution Raster
.PNG, .JPG, .TIFF
Raster files work well for photos and complex images. They must be high resolution (300 DPI minimum at final print size).
Best for: Full-color printing, photo reproductions
PDFs can contain either vector or raster graphics. Save with fonts outlined or embedded for best results.
Best for: Proofs, documents with text, mixed content
Resolution Guide
| Use | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Small items (pens, keychains) | 300 DPI | 600 DPI |
| Standard awards and products | 300 DPI | 300 DPI |
| Large format (banners, signage) | 150 DPI | 300 DPI |
Color Modes
CMYK
Use for full-color printing. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is the standard for print production.
When to use: Full-color printed products
Pantone (PMS)
Pantone colors ensure consistent brand matching across products. Provide PMS numbers for exact color reproduction.
When to use: Brand-specific colors, spot color printing
Black & White
For laser engraving and single-color applications, provide artwork in solid black on white background.
When to use: Engraving, sandblasting, single-color printing
Common Issues & Solutions
Low Resolution Logo
Problem: Logo appears pixelated or blurry when enlarged
Solution: Provide vector version or high-res file at least 300 DPI at final size
Missing Fonts
Problem: Text appears in wrong font or as boxes
Solution: Convert text to outlines/curves before sending, or include font files
RGB Colors
Problem: Colors shift when printed (especially blues and greens)
Solution: Convert to CMYK before sending, or specify Pantone colors
Thin Lines
Problem: Fine lines disappear or break up in production
Solution: Minimum 0.5pt line weight for print, 1pt for engraving
Small Text
Problem: Text becomes unreadable at small sizes
Solution: Minimum 6pt font for print, 8pt for engraving
Tips for Success
- Send your original logo file, not a screenshot or copy from a website
- Include brand guidelines if you have them (colors, fonts, usage rules)
- Provide text in a separate document or editable format to avoid typos
- Include bleed area (0.125") for full-bleed prints
- Let us know if you need us to vectorize your logo (fee may apply)
